L & K Cakes @ The Real Food Market
Yesterday my friend Laura had a stall at the Cogges Manor Farm Food Market at which I helped. The Real Food Market has only been running for a couple of weeks but it seems to have already acquired a small following. Local producers have stalls in the old barn in the grounds of the manor house which in itself is a beautiful building and well worth a visit.
Laura makes cupcakes: lovely, fluffy, cupcakes. There is no denying that Laura has a gift, a gift which I unfortunately lack: she can make over 100 cakes and each one will be deliciously light and have beautifully risen. Laura spent 8 hours on Saturday baking cupcakes but she is the first to say that baking is her passion.
Despite a slightly soggy day and a lack of marketing and advertising on the part of the manor, L & K Cakes managed to sell every single one of her cakes. Flavours included cherry bakewell, orange, lemon and super chocolate.
She will be there every other Sunday so make sure you visit pay Cogges Manor farm a visit as well as buy a cake from Laura. You will be supporting local businesses as well as a piece of Oxfordshire’s Heritage!
